A Sweater from Titan

You know the saying “Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should”? Well, that saying applies to my recent spinning experiment. I was petting my black Lab-mix, Olive, and she was shedding a bit, so I pulled out a tuft of her fur and it was pretty long. Then I had a thought— it’s technically fiber, right? So I called over my Siberian Husky, Nikita, and did the same thing—lemme finish.

I brushed Olive and Nikita until I had a couple fistfuls of their fur, and headed to my spinning wheel—I’m not done, lemme finish! I just wanted to see if I could spin it into yarn, so I used the hand carders and got it ready to spin. 

It was a bit more difficult to spin, since their fur isn’t as long as alpaca fleece, but it worked! Voila! Creepy, but totally usable, dog yarn!
